Our boycott is working.
Our voices are being heard.
And this is just the beginning.
For those who dispute our efforts, be reminded that there remains a substantial difference between free speech and hate speech....between exercising your first amendment right and engaging in a 72 hour slanderous tirade against a private US citizen.
Rush Limbaugh, you are on notice.

There is no difference. All the Constitution says is government can't infringe on free speech. If some jerk takes advertising money and the customers don't like it they have a right to boycott in an effort to end that speech. Sure Rush can spew his crap but we don't have to pay for it and the free market decides.

I have contacted a local group of Clear Channel radio stations, telling them I will not listen to any of their stations, until they drop Limbaugh. I am now listening to their other stations, so I can contact advertisers and tell them ALL Clear Channel stations are losing my "listener-ship" until Limbaugh is terminated.
ReplyDeleteNear me - it was www.clearchannelhusonvalley.com. I googled Clear Channel + Poughkeepsie, NY and that website came up. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but the Contact Us page came up totally black. I had to highlight the page first to get contact info. I e-mailed the marketing, sales, programming people, telling them what I think.
I listened to Limbaugh. Yesterday he blamed all those nasty liberals for his own foulness. Today it was educated women, whom he called not intelligent.
I have really gotten tired of being called a hypocrite for not boycotting Mr. Maher. He called a political figure a very VERY bad name once. Mr. Limbaugh won't shut up. He has been smearing all women on the contraception issue for five days now. Not too long ago, when Ms. Bialek complained of Mr. Cain's unwanted advances, Limbaugh called her "Buy a lick", and made slobbery oral sex sounds on the air. The man's a pig. He's been doing his "femi-nazi" routine for 20 years, and I have had enough of him. Besides, Limbaugh fanboys, if Maher offended you, there was nothing stopping you from starting your own boycott. We should do it for you? Really?
